This page explains exactly what data PalletVision collects, how it flows through our system, and how long we keep it.
Data Flow
- Camera feeds are ingested by the on-premise edge device via RTSP
- AI models process frames locally on the edge device, detecting production events (pallet built, board cut, etc.)
- Event metadata (timestamp, event type, camera zone, count) is sent to the PalletVision cloud API over TLS 1.3
- Dashboard displays aggregated metrics, timelines, and reports from the cloud database
- ERP sync pushes event data to PalletConnect (or other configured ERPs) via authenticated API
What We Collect
| Data Type | Stored Where | Retention | |-----------|-------------|-----------| | Raw video frames | Edge device (memory only) | Not stored — processed and discarded in real time | | Event clips (if enabled) | Edge device local storage | 7 days default, configurable | | Event metadata (counts, timestamps) | PalletVision cloud | Duration of contract + 90 days | | Dashboard configuration | PalletVision cloud | Duration of contract + 90 days | | User account data | PalletVision cloud (via Clerk) | Duration of contract + 90 days | | ERP sync logs | PalletVision cloud | 30 days rolling |
What We Do Not Collect
- No PII — we do not capture, store, or process personally identifiable information from camera feeds
- No facial recognition data — our models are trained on pallets and boards, not people
- No audio — edge devices do not capture or process audio
- No raw video in the cloud — video is processed on the edge and never uploaded
Data Deletion
Customers can request full data deletion at any time by contacting security@palletvision.ai. Upon contract termination, all customer data is deleted within 90 days per our retention policy.
Backups
Cloud-stored data is backed up daily with encrypted snapshots. Backups are retained for 30 days and stored in the same region as the primary data.
